How I am making the best of my education!

malevolentmathematician

I see lots of people asking how to be successful in college. I thought I’d make a post to throw everyone my 2 cents–though no one asked for it. It’s free money though. Who doesn’t want it?

1) Figure out your learning style. If you google VARK learning profile, there’s a great quiz you can take with study techniques based on your results. We actually use this quiz at the tutoring center at my college. You’d be surprised how many students come specifically for help figuring out how to study.

2) Keep a planner. Or a bullet journal. Or use google calendar. I even know someone who carries around a full size 18 month calendar folded up in her backpack (and she’s a professor). Just find something and WRITE EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT DOWN IN IT. EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU’LL REMEMBER IT, THERE’S A CHANCE YOU WON’T. DON’T TAKE THAT CHANCE.

3) Try to make a personal timetable and stick to it! This kind of goes along with the planner point, but it is different. It takes lots of discipline to block off and actually study during study times, but you’ll be thanking yourself later when you’ve finished your homework and can actually get to bed at a reasonable hour. In addition to studying, homework, and classes; also block off time for eating, possible times for napping (if you take them), and extracurriculars. If you can’t find adequate time for things, maybe you should consider dropping a class or an activity for the semester.

4) Make a to-do list every day. I personally use sticky notes and stick them to the page of my planner. This helps me remember things that are school related, but also other things, like appointments, social gatherings, research stuff, and family events (since I live at home and commute to school). Yeah, it’s important to remember school stuff, but the other stuff you’ve gotta get done, like laundry and social time, is JUST AS IMPORTANT.

5) Don’t neglect your health! I cannot stress this point enough!! If you aren’t eating enough, sleeping enough, or spending enough time relaxing, you will burn out very very quickly. You think it won’t happen to you, but it will. I thought I was immune to burnout, but after a month of intermittent and inadequate sleep and nutrition–I really figured out that I was SO wrong. I ended up missing an entire day of class towards the end of the semester (plus missed a lab the next day because my professor sent me home) because I just couldn’t make myself do any more stuff. It could have been much worse, but I was lucky. I used those days to rest up and returned to my classes ready to finish out the semester strong. College is hard enough to do with no mental health conditions. If you have one, and even if you don’t, be extra sure that you are taking care of yourself. YOU come before EVERYTHING ELSE. Nothing is more important than you. If you have to, ask people to check up on you. Ask a friend to check in with you, or your RA, or even your parents. They won’t mind. Your RA really does want to help you.

6) Study smart, not hard. Sometimes, studying just isn’t worth it. If it’s been half an hour and you just CANNOT FOCUS and feel like you’ve learned nothing: go outside, do some homework, do some laundry, or even just switch the topic you’re studying. If you’re trying to study the right way and you can’t make yourself do it, just find something else productive to do. Come back in another 15 minutes and try again. It happens to all of us. Also, if you’re studying for hours at a time with no breaks, it leads to burnout super quick. I have friends who do that and I don’t understand why. They’re so miserable about studying. It doesn’t have to be terrible! If you take the 25 minutes on, 5 minutes off approach, studying becomes less terrible, because you know there’s an end in sight. Plus, the 5 minutes off gives your brain a little time to process what you’re learning. That said, try to study what you learned in class that day a few hours after class. Material is so much easier to learn this way! Don’t save it for the night before your exam. Cramming rarely helps. Don’t let other people fool you–studying doesn’t have to be something out of your worst nightmare.

7) Find professors who inspire you. I always love a subject more when the professor makes it exciting. Luckily in college, it’s a lot easier to find those kinds of teachers–those who genuinely love what they do. I never would have gotten interested in math without my stats professor (who actually taught me how to integrate, bless her heart), and my proofs professor, who basically let me live in her office last semester (i.e. I like doing my homework with help 5 feet away because I always have so many questions). Find the professors who want to help you. They exist.

8) Make connections with them! Show up to office hours. Ask them questions you had from lecture. If it’s not a rushed, busy time for them, ask how they got interested in their subject; ask them about what they study–they’ll totally explain it to you like you’re a 5 year old, so don’t worry. In my experience, I have found that professors really like to connect with students. Maybe I’ve just been really lucky. Making connections is easier to do at a smaller school, or within a smaller major–but you never know what will come out of a few questions! Maybe you’ll find a research advisor, or someone you could TA for. I am friendly (and even friends) with so many of my professors just because I’m a curious person. I ask them questions about their experiences in academia, and just general stuff (believe it or not, the decorations they have in their office often lead to some cool conversations). In turn, they’re usually curious about me too. They ask me about what I’m interested in, if I need a reference letter for anything, and even just about my life in general. I know I can ask them for advice on applying to grad school, any problems I’m having with lecture material, and sometimes even general advice. For me, it’s just comforting to know that I have some people on my side who have been through college (especially if you’re like me and 17 or 18, fresh out of high school). Also, they know what you should do if you accidentally miss a final exam (like I did my first semester).

9) This is for all my math, science, tech, and engineering people out there–and people taking those classes! It also applies to other majors to maybe not as great an extent. Don’t get frustrated if you come across a problem you can’t solve.  If you can’t figure it out and have spent a chunk of time on it, move on and go back to it at the end. If you still can’t quite get it, try to go to office hours for help! You are not stupid for not being able to arrive at an answer. When you can’t figure something out, you might just be missing the most crucial piece of the puzzle you need to solve it! Don’t think “Wow I’m such an idiot” (don’t be like me basically), think “what am I missing here?” Think about it. See if you arrive at any conclusions. If not, go find someone to help you. If you find that you’re struggling with a majority of the questions, consider getting a tutor. Tutoring should be offered by your school for either very little or no charge at all. Take advantage! Tutors don’t know everything, but they sure can get your thought process on the right track! I’m a tutor and believe me–it really does help.

10) Find study buddies! My study buddies have become my best friends. We all share a love of biology, and it really brings us together. We love hiking together, and commiserating when it feels necessary. Plus, we make studying fun! If you have trouble making friends (I know I really struggle), start a study group. It’s really a great way to make connections with other people in your major, or even people outside your major.

I hope this helps! Good luck in the fall to any of you kids who are just starting college–and happy studying!

what I wish someone told me going into my freshman year of college

  • You and your roommate might not get along.
  • Just because you woke up early every day in high school doesn’t mean you will be able to in college.
  • Conversely, you might just realize you are a morning person in college.
  • You should learn to examine your personal biases. Ask yourself why you have a certain opinion.
  • There are plenty of students who have taken 17, 18, 19 hour course loads and they have been successful; however, it may not be financially feasible.
  • Searching for scholarships doesn’t stop when you get to college. Keep looking for them and applying for them. Create a separate email account to receive and correspond to scholarship emails.
  • Don’t put off visiting your academic advisor. Mine absolutely saved me when I was going through the lowest point in my life.
  • Let your mom/dad/parental guardian (if applicable) make your bed on move-in day.
  • Get involved, but only if you want to. Student organizations in college are much more time-consuming, so be certain that it is something you really want to do.
  • Have fun. You don’t have to go out every single weekend. But go get coffee or study with a friend. Have some sort of interaction with others.
  • Getting a job really eased my financial burdens and I made friends, and established references. Having money just feels good.
  • Wash your face. Keep make up wipes close to your bed for nights when you are just too tired to go through an elaborate skin care routine.
  • Communal showers suck, but we all have to endure them. I promise you will get used to it. But you gotta bathe, friend.
  • Be honest with your support system. Many times, those closest to us would help us in a heartbeat, but they never knew we needed help in the first place.
  • Utilize services your tuition covers. These include, but are not limited to, tutoring, legal services, medical services, etc.
  • Sit in the front row. Just do it. Seriously. You will be less inclined to get on your phone/not pay attention to lecture/discussion material if the material is two feet away from you. You can also see better on those days when you forget glasses, or run out of contacts.
  • Your MWF life does not know your T/TR life. You can totally hit those clothes with some febreeze and wear them on heavy rotation.
  • Speaking of clothes, everyone washes clothes on Sundays. It’s a fact.
  • You really don’t need to bring all of your clothes, expensive jewelry, trophies from that time you did soccer in 2nd grade, etc. to your dorm. Just enough clothes to fit in your drawers/closet for all seasons, and a couple sentimental items to remind you of home.
  • Save the boxes you use to move into your dorm/apartment. You will need them come move out.
  • Live and die by the syllabi, but know that professors will change things up randomly. They will also announce things in class that are not on the syllabus at random.
  • Do invest in some good plates and Tupperware.
  • Drink water.
  • The freshman 15 is real and it is coming for you. But it’s okay. You’re still awesome.
  • Parking in college is universally limited and unforgiving. Be mindful of this.
  • Many retailers will have sales on microwaves and mini fridges when fall comes around. Invest in them.
  • Storage containers are a must.
  • Respect quiet hours.
  • If you will be living on campus, and your campus is dry - RESPECT THAT. Seriously, it’s such a dumb mistake to make. I have friends who started out on probation because they decided to drink in their dorms their freshman year.
  • Get a power strip. Or three.
  • There’s no dress code in college. So you can totally wear that crop top. But be mindful that those surrounding you are potential professional connections. A lot of college is networking.
  • But, in all honesty, no one really cares what you are wearing.
  • You are an adult now, so setting boundaries is necessary.
  • Don’t stay in that toxic relationship.
  • Keep in touch with your friends/family from back home.
  • Do ask your professors questions in office hours, during class (if able to), or via email.
  • Use protection.
  • Stand up for yourself, what you believe in, and others.
  • Get the number of at least one person in each class during syllabus week.
  • Expect to stay the entire 2-4 hours of your lab.
  • Be respectful of your roommate’s space.
  • Be respectful of other’s differing opinions in Blackboard discussions.
  • Be a point whore. Do the extra credit. Do it.
  • Remember that college is a new beginning.
  • Realize that grades do not define your intelligence.
  • Realize that sometimes we fail classes, but it does not mean that we are not “smart enough.”
  • Know that college is not for everyone.
  • It’s okay to take a couple semesters off to better yourself. I did, and I am so thankful that I made that decision.
  • Buy your textbooks and access codes and lab manuals as early as you can.
  • Use a planner!!!!!!
  • Mental health is just as important as physical health.
  • Remember that college is not supposed to be the best years of your life. College is meant to set you up for the best years of your life.

Introductions

The study of something as mysterious and elusive as Figments was no simple task. They are a secluded, reserved, distant species that has little to no connection with human earth. The entire forefront of their existence is experienced only in passing glances, and this is why it took almost five years to gain enough intel to truly understand a Figment’s purpose and personality.

As someone who has been fascinated with the mind, it was not surprising that I achieved a natural connection with the Figment world almost immediately. Their style of life was intriguing and strange, and no human before had ever attempted to accept them beyond their own subconscious thoughts. I decided to pursue the opportunity to learn more about them in depth. However, the road was dangerous, each location feeding me new trials and threats.

That is the reasoning behind the basis of this book; to offer everyone insight of the incredible story of the Figments within all of us, without having to risk life and limb. I hope that this inspires you to make communication with your inner mind, and respect and love the thoughts you receive.

What is a Figment?

This question is the most commonly asked to anyone that I happen to come across. What exactly is a Figment? Although there will never be a direct answer, as a Figment’s job can range to hundreds of different paths and choices, the basic duties from Figment to Figment tends to remain the same.

A Figment is a developed mirage of the human subconscious. They are nonphysical beings, born and residing within the mind at different stages of a human’s lifespan. They take the appearance, voice, and natural ticks and habits of their host, with only small attributes and differences showing they are not exact twins to who created them. They are not demons, spirits, ghosts, gremlins, monsters, or apart of the imagination. They are, quite literally, entities of the mind.

They are ageless and are not restricted by time. Figments who were developed upon the birth of the first walking humans still remain today.

Every living human who has the ability to think and understand their own subconscious has Figments. No human, however, is exactly alike. Each Figment is particularly tailored to their host’s desires, appearances, and personality. Each Figment will respond differently to certain emotions, and each Figment will work differently with each host.

What is their Purpose?

What is it that they do? Well, as stated, many Figments find secondhand jobs and abilities that can range as much as human jobs do. However, each of them have the same major responsibility to their host. Figments claim, protect, and delegate the use of their host’s emotions, using them properly in order to keep their host healthy and working properly. Each human has a multitude of separate Figments for the purpose of different types of emotions.

For example, Darkiplier, or Dark, claims all of Mark Fischbach’s dark emotions. His anger, sadness, grief, regret, loneliness, sadism, etc. Wilford claims his more light and sexual emotions. Libido, joy, curiosity, impulsiveness, etc. Googleiplier claims his more meticulous informative side. Knowledge, understanding, technical advancement. When a human must feel a certain emotion, happiness, grief, anger, regardless, it is the Figment’s duty to provide said emotion to the human mind. In doing so, the Figment themselves must also feel this emotion, for it to be properly transferred.

Figments and their Host

On occasion, by their host’s approval, a Figment may come to the “surface” and control their host’s body. This usually occurs through extremes of a certain emotion. It is most common to see dark figments claim control of their host for small segments of time. When there is overwhelming grief, the dark Figment may take over to properly dispose of the sorrow. All of this must be with consent to the host for it to occur.

Figments are most naturally tied to their host. It is uncommon to see a Figment far from where their host roams. However, on few cases, large surges of  power, usually stirred by anger and hate, spike their energy far beyond natural standards, and because of this, become separate entities that are allowed to manifest into physical beings when they receive enough energy to do so. They are still, however, able to regulate their host’s emotions. “Darkiplier” from Mark, and “Antisepticeye” from Sean, are examples of this.

Figment Strengths

Invincibility is the major upside to a Figment. Death is impossible, as in technicality they never live. Even when their Host passes on, they do not fade away, but instead remain in the Void, waiting for another Host to arrive or simply working their own solitary job for the Council for the rest of their existence.

Anything that has ever been produced by the mind can be produced by a Figment with merely a gesture. They are extremely powerful figures, that claim control over the Void, and can produce third dimensional objects with their own will and energy.

Their amount of energy surpasses anything I have seen before, and they can conduct elemental attacks on opponents, in order to severely wound them, or kill them if they are mortal.

Figments have no need for food and water, as they have no working organs that need to be fed with nutrients. Figments also do not sleep, but instead meditate when their energy begins to drain. They can last for several weeks before needing to meditate, if they use their energy smartly.

Figment Weaknesses

Figments are forced to remain in the confines with which they are developed in. They are unable to venture freely on earth.

All Figments bend their will and powers to the Council when the time is needed to do so. They follow the basics of authority, and because of this, must often subdue their powers and stand down from what they desire to do.

Each Figment’s duty first comes to their Host, as their instinct. Their Host is basically their captor, as the Figment is unable to make their own decisions or take their own desired path until the Host has passed on.

Figments are unable to choose which emotions to feel. Whatever emotions they are assigned is the scope of what they can express. For example, Darkiplier from Mark Fischbach is unable to feel happiness, as he works with all of Mark’s negative emotions.

Final Form

Every Figment has a Final Form, a final stand of defense. It is basically the human version of Hulking Out, as severe anger, or physical stress from pain or wounds, causes for this Final Form to emerge. This Final Form is the most dangerous form that can be seen from a Figment, and almost always involves a death of anyone in close proximity.

Each Figment has a different type of Final Form dependent on their Host and themselves as a personality. The Final Form completely warps the Figment’s original body, and they transform into some type of unearthly beast, with possessions of powers and utilities never seen on earth before.

The only way for a Final Form to end is when the Figment completely drains themselves of all of their energy, and is more or less forcefully transferred into meditation, what humans would equal to “blacking out”.

What is the Void?

Each and every Figment, no matter how powerful or developed, are forced to the confines of the Void.

The Void is, essentially, the realm of human subconscious. Your thoughts, your inner desires, everything that makes you who you are, resides within this space. It is limitless and timeless, it contains nothing and everything in the same sense. It remains tucked in the fourth and fifth dimension, unseen by humans, and the Figments cannot see earth in that same way. It is a black chasm of eternity, and everything that is within it is purely formed from the mind. Everything that has ever been thought, every piece of knowledge, and whim, is stored there in the black canvas around.

The Void is claimed as the native homeland for every Figment. They are developed here, they reside here, and they remain here. No earth creature is known to be able to claim the Void as their habitat. Humans, as the most prime example, are completely incapable of handling the harsh dimensional warping of the Void. As it resides in the fourth and fifth dimension, third dimensional bodies become slowly dismantled, atom by atom. If a human remains in the Void for approximately five minutes, they will receive a rash close to the sensation of a sunburn. If they remain for an hour, they may begin to lose smaller digits like fingers and toes. A day’s worth of time in the Void would cause a human to literally disintegrate.

On occasions, mutterings of Abstracts have been known to accept the dimensions and are therefore able to live in the Void despite not being natives.

Void Dimensions

The Void has always been relatively stable. It’s beyond the natural bounds and physicalities of the earth, so there is no real possibility for its destruction. It isn’t limited by time, or air, or living beings, or the lifespan of said things. It is controlled by the human mind, which is a marginally unchanging, controllable place.

Many people are confused on what the fourth and fifth dimension really entails. It refers to the addition of time and space, that is, three spatial dimensions, and one time dimension for a fourth dimension, or three spatial dimensions and two time dimensions for a fifth dimension.  As far as science is concerned, there is a possibility of 10 separate dimensions of space, treating time as a 3rd dimensional space and the sum total gaining to infinity.

Void Regeneration

I have discovered that injuries within the Void are never permanent for a Figment. Although when a Figment fights a Figment, it may be painful, there is never death. No matter what you harm, or what you lop off, the ligament or bone, or flesh, or whatever may have been attacked will always heal itself back. It’s the subconscious mind reforming the representation of what it envisions the Figment to be, if that makes sense. If the Figment was missing an arm, it would be a misrepresentation of what the subconscious mind identifies. It will simply just reappear into being, no special glitching or regrowing required.

How do Figments Glitch?

This is another common question I see, and I think it is based around the fact that a famous Figment named Antisepticeye is capable of glitching and teleporting the entirety of his body from one section of the Void to another. There is misconception that this is a normal occurrence for the majority of Figment kind. However, the truth is that very select Figments are able to harness this ability.

Figments’ forms of transportation are very different and dependent on their host and their own personality. Antisepticeye cracks and glitches because he is loud, energetic, and technology based. Darkiplier forms himself into a shadow-like mist and becomes almost transparent as he travels because he is reserved and mysterious. Googleplier, one of Mark Fischbach’s other figments, does a similar sort of transport as Antisepticeye, but instead follows a more basic, computer generated style of glitch that resembles a server shutting down.

But while their styles are original and hardly duplicated, each and every Figment uses the same dimensional jumping in order to get around. That’s right. Figments are indeed jumping through dimensions when they glitch, and this typically occurs through the third, fourth, and fifth dimension of space. While they are in the Void, jumping from fourth dimensions and fifth dimensions allows them to glitch and move quickly throughout the void. While in physical form, jumping between third and fourth dimensions allows them to travel through the physical realm easily with little trouble.

What is the Figment Council?

The Figment Council is a collection of fifty Elder Figments. These Figments were the first fifty Figments to ever be developed, from the first dawns of time, and from their own experiences, have been seen as capable and trusted to oversee and regulate following Figments to ensure tranquility to both the Void and Hosts alike.

Not one Council member is the same. Each one directs one of the major emotions that can be found in a Figment and Host body. For example, Council Member Adghad governs the emotion of sadness, and therefore communicates and regulates all Figments that possess such an emotion. Council Member Simil regulates and governs the emotion of happiness, and works with all Figments who claim happiness as an emotion.

It is the Host’s main duty to assign emotions to each Figment, and they do so subconsciously by simply feeling the emotion for the first time. However, it is the Council’s duty to adapt, alter and rearrange emotions based on a Figment’s ability and obedience.

How did they Become a Council?

The Council was formed hundreds of years ago, at the first creation of the subconscious. It was started, at first, only by a few fleeting Figments who desired for peace between one another while spiteful rages for more power, and energy, and control began ripping the subconscious apart, and shattering innocent minds.

Those who desired for that same peace rallied with them to create a system of law. Those who fought against it were cast into darkness after years of war.

Over time, the influence of the Council began to spread and intensify. They were no longer a simple beacon of hope to keep each other sane, it became a governing society that justified their ownership over the others through their threats of what chaos would reign without them.

So, Figments bent their will to the Council. They allowed their emotions to be governed, decided, and controlled by those of an elder stature. They trusted in their purpose, everyone was given equal reign of their host, and for a long time, peace was the prominent source found in the Void. Figments began to trust in the Council’s word. They feared what would occur from rebellion.

Now, the Council creates regulations and laws for the Figments to follow to maintain order and tranquility throughout the Void. While there are no physical punishments for standing against their rules, it is a dishonor to rebel against their statements and would cause said Figments to be shunned from their society.

Source Wells, Energy & Their Effect on Entity Classifications

Conjurer Lethe here! This post was inspired by @sordhent‘s post on Source Wells. I encourage you all to read it, since it’s a great way to gain more insight into the topic!

Finding in-depth, detailed information on energy alignments and how these alignments affect spirit work and entity classification (beyond Dark Arts, Light Arts) can be near-impossible. The information I have compiled in this document is Unverified Personal Gnosis, and derived from my own experiences and interpretation of these experiences. However, I believe at least some of these points are relevant regardless of what your personal practice looks like. I encourage you to assess  these definitions critically and challenge them, or incorporate them into your own personal views as you see fit.

It’s also important to note that my understanding of Source Well theory is still evolving. As such, as I gain more information and continue to study/ have more experiences in relation to Source wells, etc. the information on this post might become obsolete or be updated.

What is a Source? A source is energy. (The kind of energy you manipulate, use to power-up your practice, fuel your spells and do your spirit work with). It is my belief that all sources are “alive” and have a certain degree of consciousness to them. The level of agency a source has is directly proportional to how developed/old it is. The source/ sources you connect to innately have a direct relationship with your energy core and the energy alignments you have.

Origin Sources: These are the “original” energy alignments. They are the “‘oldest” energy types (Ex. void, likely reiki). There is not a concrete list of Origin Sources although I would like to study them more.

How did Origin Sources come to be? Hell if I know. I have theories, of course…. But…. I cannot concretely say “This Is the Truth About How Origin Sources Came Into Existence.”

Possible theory: At one point there was some “Universal” energy mass. This energy became so unstable that eventually…bam- the energies shattered/exploded/ separated leading to the creation of distinct Origin Sources.

Divergence Sources: Energy alignments formed throughout time, either by naturally evolving from an Origin Source or because Origin sources or different Divergence Sources intermingled.

Source wells: Unadulterated energy centre in its purest form. This is where all energy of a specific type would be derived from. Ground zero. Pure energy found in source wells is incredibly potent, but also dangerous. Energy direct from the source is so undiluted that the majority of living entities coming even close to it would be fucking deader than dead. Goodbye life cycles, goodbye consciousness, hello darkness my old friend. These source wells have energy pathways flowing everywhere. (Like veins of energy flowing into the living organism that is our lovely universe).

Source veins: Pathways through which diluted source energy flows. At times, these pathways intersect, creating distinct energy mixes. These distinct energy mixes can eventually evolve and become source wells too.

Is all energy trapped in this system? There  is energy outside of these wells/ vein systems but in negligible amounts. In order to do something like significantly manipulate energy or perform spirit work, etc.  you’d need a connection to a vein or energy system. Connecting to a source is not something you have to do consciously, either. Most of us are innately attracted to work with the sources that we are connected with, and draw energy from these sources subconsciously when we are doing spirit work or energy work.

Can I access energy sources outside of the one I am naturally connected to? Humans  can access different sources (although not every entity you encounter will have the same abilities, and not every energy worker will be able to manipulate other sources skillfully). However, manipulating energy sources outside of the one(s) that you are innately connected to can be extremely challenging. Furthermore, the level of energy work you will be able to achieve (if you do not create an energy system that is linked to this source) will be mediocre at best. You might find manipulating energy from sources closely related to your innate source to be easiest. Manipulating energy from sources that you are not innately connected to OR that you have not been aligned with [through initiation, for example] can be very trying both physically and mentally. Doing this for a prolonged period of time is not recommended or sustainable, particularly if you want to advance in your practice.

Fragments: For the purpose  of this post, they are considered conscious embodiments of the source. They are the source, but have also developed free-will and agency. They can interact with living things (as long as they control their energy output). As part of the source they have direct access and ability to manipulate unadulterated energy from source wells without repercussion. There can be multiple fragments of the same source. Fragments of the source are very powerful. Their personalities are distinct, but likely will mirror the qualities/ traits of the source energy they come from. They generally have little interest in interacting with the world/ humans/ other entities, although there are exceptions. Do not humanize them- they are unlike any other entities you will encounter. Avoidance is recommended. If not possible, proceed with Extreme caution. Do not seek them out, and cross your fingers hoping that you won’t run into one of them. They will fuck you up if they feel like it.

Deities: For the purpose of this post, deities are defined as high-level, highly developed entities. They are distinct beings from the source, but can access source wells and manipulate pure energy without concern (they will not be negatively affected by the concentration of energy, etc.). Not all deity-type beings are known to humans, nor do they always demand worship. Deities tend to be more comfortable interacting with the world than fragments. While all deities are able to access source wells, the extent of manipulation that they are capable of is highly variable. However, all deities are very powerful. Approach cautiously. (Although deities are likely less incomprehensible than fragments, they are still not human. Remember this in your dealings with them).

Native Workers: Defined as entities who are able to innately access the energy from one of the pure source well veins. They derive their power, abilities, etc. from one of these sources but the level of purity that they can tolerate is variable. (Fire elementals, pure-void creatures, etc. are all examples of native workers). Native Worker personalities are all highly variable. Cultures, religions, & species that can be classified as “Native Workers” are countless.

Energy Hybrids: Entities who are able to innately access the energy from one of the mixed source well veins. Energy hybrids are not a “cross” between two species with different alignments. Rather, they are unique species whose source energy is a mix of two or more sources. They derive their power and abilities from this source mix, and might also be able to access (depending on their skill and power) energy from the pure source well veins that comprise their energy alignment. A Void reaper would be able to access energy from a death/void vein, as well as from a death vein, and a void vein.

Bloodline Hybrids: Entities who are a mix between two species that derive their power from different sources. They might be able to draw energy from mixed source veins, from only one source, or from no source whatsoever. A dragon/water hybrid would be an example of a bloodline hybrid.

Disconnected: Entities and living beings who, for one reason or another, cannot access source energy at all. They might have been cut off in a past life, had a binding performed, or they might be unlucky bloodline hybrids. Being cut off from source energy can have serious physical, mental, and emotional repercussions. It will also make spiritual work either exceedingly difficult or impossible.

Cool story, I still don’t care: Aside from impacting how we classify entities, the Source Wells you innately connect to have a direct impact on your energy core and on your energetic alignment. Having a greater understanding of them can be a great asset if you want to advance your practice/ energy-work skills. These two posts talk in more detail about how sources interact with your own energy core, and why alignments matter at all
